Food Plant Design/Build

When designing and building new or renovated food plants our design/build department has the required expertise in regulatory requirements, architectural, mechanical, electrical and process design. One member of our design team, Sandra Fulton was the CFIA’s Program Specialist, Plants and Equipment for nine years. The position involved evaluating and approving plans and specifications for existing and new registered premises.

FFS is a single source operation for complete food plant design, construction and equipment suitability and government approvals. We have been successful in having over 50 plants approved by government involving renovations and new establishments. Our knowledgeable and experienced design/build department works with clients to transform concepts into government approved, fully operational food and meat processing establishments.

Design Services

1. Complete floor plan design from ground-up – site surveys
2. Provide regulatory building construction design and specifications
3. Develop compatibility of operations in respect to layout of rooms and operational flows
4. Suitability of equipment (design, construction and specifications) for the process
5. Develop Auto-CAD plans and specifications
6. Facilitate government approvals (CFIA / OMAFRA)
7. Arrange and facilitate final inspections for new plant opening
8. Assist with completion of government application forms, documents and registration process required for submission to government agencies
